~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~100% Save File~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The save is a "Folder" type.
PCSX2 added support for "Save Folders" awhile ago.
In your PCSX2 memory card menu, make a "Save folder" type memory card.
The way it works, is every game gets it's own memory card automatically, so you won't ever run out of space.
Anyway, place the BISLPS folder inside the the memory folder, and it will work.
You place the BISLPS folder itself, not it's contents.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~12 Artes Mod~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(I will add the mod later, but this is the writeup for now, i'm going to sleep lolol)
This mod works by replacing the menu button, with an artes sphere button from newer tales games.
but before i explain what to do...
~~~~~~~~~~~~Clearing up false information online~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some believe in some versions of this mod you MUST swap you menu button to L1. This is false in every version.
Some believe the input button is a specific one. This is false, there are a few diffrent versions of the mod.
The install instructions on the offical life bottle productions discord are terrible.
They are not just out of touch with the newer versions of pcsx2, but even for old pcsx2 its stupid confusing!
Just ignore them....
That version of the mod uses Guard as the button to hold to get access to your second set of artes...
...but that button is extremely stupid!
You will axidentally magic guard / dash forward or backward all the time trying directional artes!
You will die ALOT using guard as a modifier, just don't do it!
We already axidentally jump a lot when trying to use upward artes,
don't make it worse by having side AND down also be axidental inputs! >:(
This version of the mod instead replaces the menu button (Triangle).
You won't need to open the menu to swap artes because you will have many artes mapped,
plus equipment swapping is kinda useless / cheatery, and kills gameplay flow.
You can still pause battles by pressing start, so you don't lose much functionality.
Healing items don't matter that much, and the games doesn't have TP or orange gels.
Plus this mod lets you do cheater artes setups...so if your super desperate for revive items,
you can always just map the revive spell to people that don't normally learn it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Setting up the 12 artes mod~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Note: 12 artes mode requires access to narikiri dolls, although does not actually use them.
Narikiri dolls are a accessory in many tales games that let characters use the artes of other characters.
The included save file for NG+ has lots of narikiri dolls for this purpose.
The narikiri dolls will always carry over.
In PCSX2, right click tales of destiny DC and go to properties.
In the Summary tab (the default one), copy the CRC. It will be a hex code like 12FFCA8F or something.
The CRC is basically the ID number of the game, IE "This file goes to this game!"
Rename the inclucded .pnatch file to that. For example 12FFCA8F.pnatch
Next, move the newly renamed .pnatch file and place it...
If you installed PCSX2, place in C/Documents/PCSX2/cheats
If PCSX2 is in portable mode, PCSX2/cheats
(Note: as of 2023 PCSX2 nolonger uses the cheats_ws and cheats_ni folders, only the "cheats" folder)
In PCSX2, go to settings -> Emulation, and in the System Settings sub-category turn on Enable Cheats.
And your done!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Using 12 artes mode ingame~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To assign your second set of artes, have a character equip a narikiri doll, and assign some artes.
Afterward, you can swap you accessory back / unequip the narikiri doll.
In battle, while holding the [Menu] input, you are able to use any of the artes in the artes sphere (doll).
For example, have demon fang on [Arte + Neutral] , but fireball on [Menu + Arte + Neutral].
Now, holding triangle for [menu] while [Artes] is on X is kind of a bitch,
and its also very diffrent from later tales games setups, so i recommend swapping the controls.
In the ingame menu (not the artes menu, just the menu) press select to open the options menu aka customize.
go to control Battle Controls.
NOTE: Pressing ANY button will assign it for that input, so heres the defalts.
Attack: O
Artes: X
Guard: []
Menu /\
Blast Caliber: L1
Change Target: R1
Shortcut 1: L2
Shortcut 2: R2
Most online resources seem to recommend Menu on L1 and Blast on triangle.
...But this setup is stupid!
The idea is L1 is the artes sphere button in many later tales games. And holding triangle sucks.
But all they did was change it so you hold triangle for blast caliburs instead!
Blast caliburs are like mystic artes from other games, they are you ultimates.
But unlike other games, you have a meter for then, there is no combo requirements.
And the meter fills almost instantly! One guarded enemy hit can be like 80% meter!
Infact, guarding a crit, or a perfect guard can be over 100% meter!
meaning you can blast, guard an attack, then blast again without even using any artes inbetween!
You use it very commonly...
So this doesn't fix anything! Infact, something like [L1+X+/\] Sounds awful!
You CAN do it that way...
But instead, i recommend doing a 3 way shift.
Put menu on L1
then but blast on R1
Then change target on triangle.
us gamers are much more used to holding sholder buttons for inputs in video games,
and you almost never use change target, except SOMETIMES while casting.
plus most spells you wouldn't care to swap target. So it's not annoying.
The downside is R1 is usually swap target in many games... Bah.
