One of the biggest myths i see being passed around, is how early access games will get better over time. "This part of the game will be different on release!" or "It only looks like that because this is a beta!". What an enormous lie. There is probably less then 10 total games of steam that have ever substantially changed some aspect of the game between early access and launch. EA is not "prone to big changes" like people pretend it to be. EA games do NOT change that much. They might get additions, but rarely do things change, and very rarely for anything of scale.
There will not be big graphics changes, there will not be big gameplay system changes, these are all lies. EA games are not random tech demos that developers swap between, they are to a more significant extent then people realize, a public release a director has decided is good enough to sell. It's a complete enough representation of a final product to sell to the public. EA quite literally capitalizes their sales on the idea (false hope) that EA games may rework their designs. Now why the fuck would they do this? This is a full experience of quite literally everything they have so far and one they believe is good enough to sell. ANY game could fully rework their designs, but that is extremely rare. Stop deluding yourself into thinking your newest EA find will be the endless labour of love you want it to be. If a designer wants to make something totally different, they will go and create that different game. What your getting, your graphics, your gameplay systems, are the ones the designers of this game wanted. Designers aren't people who think their work is literally the best ever, they think it's "Good enough". And when their ready, they'll advance to their next good enough experience. This applies even if the idea its similar, heck thats what sequels are for! Pointing out to them how much better it could be won't change things. It's not profitable, and by the time you have their EA game, their already exhausted from years of work.
Stop thinking EA games can have truely big changes. Titles like dead cells or slay the spire are quite literally of a small handful in 10 fucking years. Stop looking at your early access titles like they will play better on release. They will not. They will have more content, thats about it. Their systems are 99% set in stone. Stop looking for changes and go find a new game.
